The hustle and bustle of Christmas is over. Now is the time everyone is getting ready to take down the Christmas decorations and the tree. Buying up the 50% off wrapping paper to use next year. AND, making plans for the New Year Celebrations!
It's always a time when people reflect on the previous year. Accomplishments met, new babies, deaths of those that we love, new jobs, lost jobs, stuff like that. It's also a time for us to sit back and take a look at the blessings in our life...it's so easy to poke holes in your life and talk smack about stuff like why you didn't get a larger raise (or why you didn't get a raise at all), or why your car broke down so much this year, or why the neighbor kid got the student of the month award instead of yours. Right? What did I do right this year? What did I screw up this year? What can I do better at next year?
Instead of beating yourself up and dwelling on the bad stuff, take a look at all of the good stuff in your life that you take for granted everyday. Yes, I said take for granted. The people in your life ~ your family perhaps? Do you tell them you love them regularly? You should! Do you hug them regularly? You should! Do you reach out to friends other than when you need something from them? You should! Do you tell your staff or assistant thanks for the great job they do? You should! Do you hold grudges? You shouldn't! Do you take time out for you? You should! Life is too short...make the best of it while you still can! Don't wait until it's too late!
